Max Verstappen is swapping his Formula 1 car for a kart tonight as he takes on 100 drivers in the spectacular “Max vs 100” challenge at Silverstone.
The four-time Formula 1 World Champion will start from 101st and last position, with one objective: overtake all 100 competitors within 30 laps. The event, organised by Red Bull, brings Verstappen back to his karting roots in a challenge built around one of the fundamentals of racing: overtaking.
From karting to Formula 1
Long before fighting for victories and World Championships in Formula 1, Verstappen built his racing career in karting. Today, that same instinct for overtaking will be put to the test on a purpose-built circuit at Silverstone, with 100 karts on track at the same time.
All drivers will use identical karts, while Verstappen will have 30 laps to work his way through the field. Traffic, positioning and finding the right moment to attack will be just as important as outright pace.
From Silverstone to Spa-Francorchamps
For Formula 1 fans, Verstappen's name is already closely associated with some of the most iconic moments of the Belgian Grand Prix.
Every summer, thousands of fans make their way to the Ardennes for the Formula 1 weekend at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. From the legendary Eau-Rouge and Raidillon combination to the long run through the forest, Spa-Francorchamps remains one of the most distinctive venues on the F1 calendar.
And Verstappen has plenty of history at Spa. The Dutch driver has built a particularly strong connection with the Belgian Grand Prix, where his support from the grandstands has become a familiar sight throughout the F1 weekend.

The live broadcast begins at 5:00 PM BST, with the race scheduled to start at 6:00 PM BST. The event will be broadcast live worldwide on Disney+.
